Guidance for sharing flag participation on social media while keeping respect and context at the center.

Digital channels provide a convenient way to share participation in Har Ghar Tiranga, but online sharing comes with responsibilities. The same principles that apply to physical displays — dignity, correct handling, and non-commercial use — should guide digital posts. Photos, captions, and graphics should present the flag in a respectful manner and avoid manipulations that could be seen as irreverent or promotional.

When posting images, ensure the flag appears clean and is being handled properly. Avoid creative overlays that place text, logos, or commercial material directly over the flag. If you wish to add context, include a brief caption explaining why you participated and perhaps one civic fact about the Tiranga or the Flag Code to educate others.

Digital participation can also be educational. Short videos where family members explain what the flag means, or simple infographics about the Ashoka Chakra and colours, are positive ways to spread awareness. Schools can host virtual events with students sharing respectful messages about the flag and its meaning.

Be mindful of privacy and consent when featuring other people, especially children. Obtain permission before posting photos of neighbours or schoolmates. Tagging should be done thoughtfully, and avoid pressuring others to participate.

Finally, resist using the flag for commercial gain. Har Ghar Tiranga is fundamentally a civic initiative; commercialising the symbol or using it for promotions undermines its dignity. When shared with care and context, digital participation amplifies the campaign’s educational and unifying goals.
